IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior Megan Gustafson has been named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Monday.

The midseason team includes 30 student-athletes from 20 colleges and seven different conferences. Gustafson is one of two Big Ten student-athletes on the list (Kaila Charles, Maryland).

In 24 games this season, Gustafson is averaging an NCAA-best 27.3 points per game on 70.6 percent shooting from the field (No. 2 nationally). On Feb. 10, Gustafson tied a Big Ten record, registering the 77th double-double of her career (Jantel Lavender, Ohio State). She is second nationally with 22 double-doubles this season. Her 12.8 rebounds per game ranks fourth.

The Port Wing, Wisconsin, native has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week 10 times this season. She broke a conference record last week, winning her 20th career weekly honor. Gustafson was named the ESPNW National Player of the Week earlier today.

Ten national semifinalists will be announced March 4. The four finalists will be announced March 22, and the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year will be announced April 6.

Gustafson and the No. 16/16 Hawkeyes return to action Thursday, hosting Illinois in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. (CT). Tickets are $12 for adults and free for youth and UI students.
