“We are looking forward to traveling again this weekend as it’s a great experience to be together as a team on the road. The team continues to compete really well in matches and a road match always presents new challenges. We need grit and lots of competitive spirit when playing on the road.”

HAWKEYES CONTINUE TO ROLL
Iowa is off to a 6-0 start after defeating both Iowa State and DePaul last weekend. This is only the third time in the past 10 seasons the Hawkeyes have opened the season with six straight wins. The last time Iowa accomplished the feat was in 2016-2017, Schmid’s first season, when they opened the season with eight straight victories.

TAKING ON THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Sunday’s match is the 21st meeting between the Hawkeyes and Golden Eagles (4-2). Iowa leads the all-time series, 19-2. The previous match between the two programs was last season, when the Hawkeyes defeated Marquette, 7-0. The Hawkeyes have won the previous five contests against Marquette.

NOTABLE STARTS
Iowa has dropped just nine individual matches all season, owning a collective record of 44-9. Freshman Sophie Clark remains undefeated in singles play at the No. 4 position (6-0). Sophomore Ashleigh Jacobs matches Clark’s undefeated singles record with a 5-0 start, at the No. 3 position. Adorabol Huckleby, Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell, and Cloe Ruette each have dropped just one singles match this season.
