The University of Iowa men’s tennis team will host Middle Tennessee (6 p.m.) on Friday and Wichita State (2 p.m.) Sunday at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex. Admission is free to the public.
LAST TIME OUT:
• The Hawkeyes notched their fifth consecutive victory in a 4-0 shutout over in-state rival Drake last Saturday. Iowa has beaten the Bulldogs the last two seasons.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE BREAKDOWN:
• The Bulldogs enter this weekend’s action with a 9-1 record after defeating Big Ten foe Indiana, 4-2.
• Head Coach Jimmy Borendame is in his 10th season with the Blue Raiders and owns a 151-98 all-time record.
• Iowa is 1-1 all-time against Middle Tennessee, last beating the Blue Raiders in 2008, in a neutral site contest (4-2).
WICHITA STATE BREAKDOWN:
• The Shockers enter this weekend 7-3 overall after winning back-to-back road matches at Creighton (5-1) and Kansas City (5-1).
• Iowa is 5-0 all-time against Wichita State, last beating the Shockers in 2016, in Wichita, (4-3).
HAWKEYE NOTABLES:
• Redshirt senior Kareem Allaf is ranked a personal-best No. 53 in the country.
• Will Davies and Oliver Okonkwo are ranked 10th nationally in doubles; it’s the highest ranking of any Hawkeye tandem ever.
• Allaf owns the third most singles wins in a program history (79).
• Allaf is now tied for second in school history with 134 combined singles and doubles victories.
• Three Hawkeyes own a 5-1 record in singles (Allaf, Davies, and Tyler).
• Junior Will Davies is two doubles victories from cracking Iowa’s career Top 10 list.
• The Hawkeyes are coming off one of its best seasons in 20 years, finishing fifth in the Big Ten and knocking off three ranked Big Ten foes.

HEAD COACH ROSS WILSON:
Ross Wilson, a former two-time NCAA All-American and three-time ITA national doubles champion at Ohio State, is in his sixth season as head coach and seventh year with the Iowa men’s tennis program.
