Hawkeyes Open Play at Big Tens

PITTSBURGH – The University of Iowa women’s golf team fired a 309 during the opening round of the Big Ten Championships, which is being held at Fox Chapel Golf Club.

Three Hawkeyes – freshman Paula Miranda, junior Jacque Galloway and junior Morgan Goldstein – are all tied for 54th place with six-over par 77s. Goldstein had a team-best three birdies during the round.

Michigan State is leading the championships with a 282, three shots ahead of Purdue and Michigan. The Spartans’ Leila Raines and Nebraska’s Michaela Vavrova are leading individually with three-under par 68s.
