MADISON, Wis. – The University of Iowa rowing team finished its first fall event of the season in a scrimmage against Indiana and Wisconsin on Lake Mendota.
Friday’s races were postponed due to high winds causing unsafe conditions.
The Hawkeyes did get to compete on Saturday morning. There were four total races for the eights, including a 3000-meter and three 1000-meter scrimmages.
Iowa is back in action Oct. 21-22, for its lone home event of the 2022-23 season to host Minnesota on the Iowa River.
QUOTING HEAD COACH JEFF GARBUTT
“We showed some great strides in our progress, along with the great depth of our roster today. We are excited to see how we will continue to grow and are looking forward to next weekend. Thank you to the Wisconsin staff for hosting and to Coach Peterson at Indiana for helping put this opportunity together.”
