IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa women’s tennis head coach Sasha Schmid announced on Tuesday that Chelsea Bluestein has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Hawkeyes next fall.
“As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew Iowa was the right place for me,” said Bluestein. “I felt so welcomed by Sasha, Elise, and the girls. They all made it feel like home. It’s a place where not only I can improve my tennis, but also become a better person.”
In 2022, Bluestein won two USTA tournaments and was a finalist in a Level 2 USTA tournament. She has a Universal Tennis Rating of a 9.63, and she is a National Honors Society Member at Seacreast County Day School in Naples, Florida.
“I am so happy to welcome Chelsea into our Hawkeye Tennis family,” Schmid said. “She will join us next fall and her fun-loving spirit, and talented full-court tennis game is a wonderful addition to our team. Chelsea’s dedication to developing her tennis is paying off with steady improvement and successful results. I am excited to coach her collegiate tennis career and be a part of her continued growth and success.”
