IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa track and field’s Jenoah McKiver was named the Men’s Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. The weekly honor is the fourth of McKiver’s career and second during an outdoor season. The junior earned his last weekly award on April 13, 2022.
McKiver, a High Point, North Carolina, native made his 400-meter season debut at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, last weekend. McKiver crossed the line in 45.33, winning the event against a loaded field. He currently has the seventh-fastest time in the country and leads the Big Ten.
McKiver is the third Hawkeye to earn Big Ten Athlete of the Week honors this outdoor season, joining Lia Love and Kat Moody.
The Hawkeyes return to action on Thursday with the distance and throws groups competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. The sprint and hurdle groups head to the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday.
