ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team continued its strong performance at the ITA Sectional Championships with Daianne Hayashida making impressive progress in the consolation bracket on Day 3.
Hayashida had a standout day in singles, securing a dominant victory in the quarterfinals by defeating Jade Otway from TCU, 6-2, 6-0. She followed it up with a solid win in the semifinals, taking down Zuzanna Kubacha of Baylor in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
With these victories, Hayashida advances to the consolation finals, where she will compete Sunday.
