Iowa Ready to Compete at Sarasota 2K

The Iowa rowing team is traveling to Nathan Benderson Park in Florida where they will compete in the Sarasota 2K on Friday and Saturday. Time trials begin 1:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday.

IOWA CITY, IOWA – The University of Iowa rowing team begins their competitive spring season down in Florida for the Sarasota 2K, also known as the Sunshine State Invite, Friday and Saturday. All racing will take place at Nathan Benderson Park, with time trials starting at 1:00 p.m. (CT).

FORMAT
The Hawkeyes will compete in a 2k time trial and heat on Friday, followed by finals on Saturday.

THE FIELD
The field features 18 teams: No. 18 Alabama, Boston College, Dartmouth, High Point, Iowa, Jacksonville University, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Old Dominion, Tulsa, No. 25 UCF, UMass, No. 21 UNC, and West Virginia.

Nathan Benderson Park is a top rowing facility in North America. The park has hosted organized regatta competitions since 2009, most notably the site of the 2017 World Rowing Championship. Athletes enjoy rowing on the permanent, FISA Class A 2,000-meter sprint rowing and training course.
