IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa assistant coach Tania Davis was named to the 2025 Thirty Under 30 List by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Thursday.
Davis just finished her second year with the Iowa women’s basketball program and was a pivotal piece in Iowa’s National Title run in 2024. She works closely with Iowa student-athletes, helping them develop into strong leaders and role models in the Iowa City community. Also assists the basketball staff in the day-to-day activities of the program.
Davis was an assistant coach for Omaha women’s basketball from 2021 to 2023. During her time with the Mavericks, the program won 22 games and advanced to the Summit League Championship in 2022-23. She had a two-year stint as a women’s basketball graduate assistant at Clemson. While with the Tigers, she oversaw the team managers, while assisting with individual workout plans, recruit visits and film breakdown.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.
“Congratulations to the coaches who have distinguished themselves so early in their careers,” said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. “The WBCA is pleased to recognize this up-and-coming talent in our coaching family. We celebrate their effort on the basketball court as teachers and equally applaud the extensive role they play in impacting the lives of their student-athletes.”
