Hawkeyes Finish 6th at Colleton River Collegiate

The Iowa men’s golf team completed their final round of play at the Colleton River Collegiate on Monday.

BLUFFTON, S.C. – The University of Iowa men’s golf team completed their final round of play at the Colleton River Collegiate on Monday. The Hawkeyes finished in sixth place after moving up two spots in the final round.

Junior Gage Messingham led the Hawkeyes with a total score of five-over par, securing a top-20 finish in 17th place. He recorded a team-high 10 birdies throughout the tournament, including back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16 in the third round. He finished the final round at two-over par.

Sophomore Max Tjoa also led the Hawkeyes, tying Messingham for 17th at five-over par. His performance marked his third top-25 finish of the season. Tjoa tallied three birdies in the final round, finishing the day at three-over par.

Freshman Chance Rinkol followed at nine-over par, placing 35th overall. In his final round, he recorded one birdie on both the front and back nine.

Graduate student Josh Lundmark carded the best final round for the Hawkeyes, shooting even-par over 18 holes. His performance included an eagle and three birdies bringing his total score to 14-over par across three rounds. Senior Ian Meyer rounded out Iowa’s lineup with a 14-over par finish shooting four-over in his final round.

Iowa finished second among Big Ten teams with Michigan State claiming the tournament title. The Hawkeyes placed ahead of Ohio State, Indiana, Rutgers, Penn State, and Minnesota.
