IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Athletics Department announced themes and ticket timeline for 2025 home football games on Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes will conclude spring practice with an open practice on Saturday, April 26, in Kinnick Stadium. Entry and parking are both free. The final practice will begin at 10:45 a.m. (CT), with gates opening at 9:45 a.m.

THE HOME SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
The 2025 season will kick off Aug. 30 against UAlbany. It is the annual Extra Yard for Teachers Day and Educator Appreciation Day as Iowa salutes teachers from around the state. The annual FryFest will be held Friday, Aug. 29, at the Iowa River Landing, celebrating everything Hawkeye. The Iowa Letterwinner Club will celebrate the 2025 Hall of Fame class throughout the weekend, including introduction of the 2025 class in Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.
Iowa concludes its nonconference schedule on Sept. 13, welcoming UMass to Iowa City. This is the annual Gold Out Game with fans encouraged to wear gold clothing.
The Hawkeyes celebrate Homecoming in their Big Ten Conference home opener against Indiana on Sept. 27. The Homecoming Council and court will be presented at halftime. Iowa holds a record of 62-44-5 in Homecoming games.
Iowa will entertain Penn State in the annual ANF Black and Gold Spirit Game on Oct. 18. Fans are encouraged to wear black or gold clothing based on their seat location. The 13th former Hawkeye added to the ANF Wall of Honor will be recognized.
Iowa will host Minnesota on Oct. 25, which is Family Weekend and the annual Blackout game. Fans are encouraged to wear black attire as part of the Blackout. The Hawkeyes and Gophers will compete for Floyd of Rosedale, which currently resides in Iowa City after Iowa’s 31-14 triumph in Minneapolis in 2024.
Oregon’s first visit to Kinnick Stadium in 36 years will occur on Nov. 8, which will be Military Appreciation Day. Iowa Athletics will have special acknowledgments to active duty and veterans of the armed services.
The final home game against Michigan State on Nov. 22 is Senior Day. Iowa will celebrate senior classes for the football program, marching band and spirit squads. Former Iowa letterwinners will once again form the Tunnel of Honor to welcome the Hawkeyes onto the field prior to the contest.
The Hawkeyes did not face five of the seven home opponents in 2024.
Start times for the first three home games are expected to be announced in late May. Remaining start times will be announced six or 12 days in advance of each game.
