IOWA CITY, Iowa – Six Hawkeyes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Alli Bookin-Nosbisch, Holly Duax, Lia Love, Paige Magee, Ryan Schreiner and Annie Wirth earned the distinction following the 2024-25 season.
Student-athletes are eligible for the recognition if they athletically rank within the top 50 in an individual event on the regional level. Academically, nominees must be at least a sophomore and have at least a 3.50 GPA.
Bookin-Nosbisch finished her career as Iowa’s school-record holder in both 800 events. She was a second-team All-American in the outdoor 800 meters, completing the race in 2:03.78.
Duax concluded her junior year at the NCAA Championships as part of Iowa’s 4x100 relay team. Individually, the native of Sioux City, Iowa, qualified to the regional meet in the 100 meters.
Love wrapped up her career as a Hawkeye in Eugene, competing in the 4x100 relay. During indoor season, Love ran a 23.38 in the 200 at the Jarvis Scott Open, sealing Iowa’s fourth-fastest time in school history. The Chapel Hill, North Carolina, native competed in both the 100 and 200 meters at the NCAA First Rounds in College Station, Texas, during May.
Magee finished her decorated career in Iowa City after indoor season, where she ran a season-best 8.19 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Larry Wieczorek Invite. The veteran hurdler placed second overall at the Tyson Invite in Fayetteville, Arkansas, crossing the line in 8.20.
Schreiner had a breakout season outdoors during his junior year. Schreiner qualified to the NCAA First Rounds in the 800 meters, where he ran 1:49.02. His personal best of 1:48.16 ranks 10th all-time at Iowa. Schreiner was part of the then-world leading 4x800 time of 7:21.88 at the Drake Relays.
Wirth earned recognition during the indoor season following her eighth-place finish in the pentathlon at the Big Ten Championships, where she totaled 3,941 points. She was the champion of the event at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invite in Columbia, Missouri, and placed second at the Hawkeyes’ season-opening Jimmy Grant Invite.
