SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
- Indiana head coach Josh Rife is in his inaugural season at the helm of the Hoosiers. Rife came to Indiana after a six-year stint at Ball State. Rife played for the Indiana men’s soccer team where he helped lead the team to back-to-back Final Fours in 2000 and 2001, as well as a Big Ten title in 2001.
- Indiana comes into the match with a 5-5-6 overall record including a 2-3-5 Big Ten conference record. After being picked to finish 17th in the pre-season poll, the Hoosiers currently sit in 13th with 11 points.
- The Hoosiers are led by Maggie Ledwith with five goals on the season. Ledwith leads the team in shots (31) and shots on goal (13). The sophomore leads the team with two game winning goals on the season. Ledwith also leads the team in assists with four.
- Indiana splits goalkeeper duties with Sailly Rainey and Dani Jacobson each appearing in 14 games. Both goalkeepers own a .771 save percentage while Jacobson leads the team in goals allowed average of 1.01.
- The Hoosiers have allowed just six goals in the first half all season while giving up 13 in the second half.
- Indiana is 0-1-1 on the season against ranked opponents.
SERIES HISTORY - INDIANA
The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series, 13-11-1. The last time the two programs met the Hawkeyes picked up a, 1-0, victory on Oct. 6, 2024, at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The first time the two programs met was Oct. 3, 1997, with the Hawkeyes picking up a, 3-0, victory. When playing at Indiana, Iowa is 4-7-1. In DiIanni’s tenure, Iowa is 4-3-1 against the Hoosiers and 0-3-1 when playing at Indiana.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Sofia Bush, Millie Greer, and Liana Tarasco were named Big Ten Players to Watch. The Hawkeyes were picked sixth in the Big Ten Preseason Poll. Bush was also named a midfielder to watch by Top Drawer Soccer.
- Iowa is filled with veteran leadership, rostering eight graduate students and three seniors.
- Meike Ingles (lower leg injury), Eva Pattison (redshirt), and Abby Warner (redshirt) will be out for the rest of the 2025 season.
- Iowa’s No. 13 preseason ranking was the highest preseason ranking in program history. It also marked just the second time Iowa earned a preseason ranking.
- The Hawkeyes No. 5 ranking last week marked the highest ranking in program history.
- Iowa is set to make the Big Ten Tournament for the third year in a row.
- The Hawkeyes graduated the program’s all-time winningest goalkeeper in Macy Enneking. Enneking defended the goal for Iowa in each of the last three seasons.
- Kenzie Roling, Greer, and Bush were voted team captains.
THE DIIANNI FILE
- DiIanni signed a contract extension on Feb. 27, 2025, that extended the programs all-time winningest coach through 2029.
- DiIanni is 3-2 in his Iowa career against opponents ranked sixth or higher. Before his arrival, Iowa was 0-7 in those games and was outscored, 29-4.
- Entering this season, DiIanni is the second active winningest D1 coach in the country by percentage, with a win percentage of .753. He only trails Paul Ratcliffe of Stanford at .784.
- DiIanni entered 2025 with the 19th most wins amongst active D1 coaches.
- DiIanni is the 41st winningest coach of all-time based of win percentage. He is the sixth winningest D1 coach of all-time.
- DiIanni has won all four NCAA Tournament matches in program history.

- The Iowa Soccer Complex was the place to be this season with Iowa’s average attendance of 2,076 fans ranking fifth in the country and first in the Big Ten.
- The 2,076 average fans in attendance set a new program record, breaking last season’s record of 1,479 fans per game.
- The year prior to DiIanni’s arrival, in 2013, the Hawkeyes averaged an attendance of 522 fans per game.
- Iowa’s home match against TCU marked a program regular season crowd attendance record with 2,382 fans.
QUICK HITTERS
- Graduate student Price Loposer’s 95 games played in her career are tied for the second most games played amongst active players. She only tails Lia Godfrey of Virginia with 99 games played.
- Taylor Kane is 18-3 in her collegiate career as the starting goalkeeper.
- Iowa ranks first in the Big Ten in shots on goal per game (7.12).
- Iowa is outshooting their opponents, 264-160. They are outscoring their opponents, 33-18.
- The Hawkeyes have allowed just six goals in the first half all season. They are outscoring their opponents, 13-6, in the first half.
- Bush’s six assists rank fourth in the conference.
- Kelli McGroarty’s six goals rank 11th in the conference.

2024 BREAKTHROUGHS
- At 15-3-4 the Hawkeyes tied the program record for most victories in a season. Iowa won 15 games in 2013 and 2019.
- Iowa advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history a season ago.

Iowa’s record is 63-3-4 in its last 70 games when scoring two goals or more, which dates back to October 2017.
- The Hawkeyes are 8-1-1 on the season when scoring at least two goals.
MIDSEASON TOP 100
Four Hawkeyes were selected to Top Drawer Soccer’s Midseason Top 100 list.
- Millie Greer was tabbed as 50th overall on the top overall player’s list.
- Three Hawkeyes were mentioned in the Top 100 Freshman list. Josie Jones (33rd), Liana Tarasco (37th), and Elle Wildman (55th).
- Jones was the ninth highest rated freshman in the Big Ten.
B1G TOURNAMENT
The 2025 Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament takes place from Oct. 30-Nov. 9. The official bracket will be released on Sunday, Oct. 26 pending results from around the conference.
- 10 teams qualify for the tournament.
- The opening round and quarterfinals take place at Purdue while the semifinals and championship will take place in St. Louis at Energizer Park.
- The Hawkeyes have won two Big Ten Championships in the last five seasons (2021 & 2023). The Hawkeyes are the only team to have multiple Big Ten Tournament titles the past five seasons.
- Iowa’s two Big Ten Tournament titles in program history rank sixth in the conference.
- The Hawkeyes currently post an 12-11-1 record in Big Ten Tournament matches.
- 2025 will mark Iowa’s 16th Big Ten Tournament appearance.
HAWKEYES IN THE TOP 25
Dating back to last season, the Hawkeyes have stayed in the top 25.
- Last year Iowa broke a program record by staying in the top 25 all season, something that previously had never been done in program history.

In Iowa’s match against UCLA, Kane set a career-high with 13 saves.
- It marked the most saves by a Hawkeye in a single match since Emily Moran (14) on Oct. 31, 2010.
- The 13 saves tied for the seventh most in a single match in program history.
- The 13 saves marked the most by a power four goalkeeper all season.
