Hawkeyes to Face Missouri in Opening Round of National Duals Invitational

The Iowa men’s wrestling team will be the No. 1 seed and face Missouri in the opening round of the National Duals Invitational presented by Paycom.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa men’s wrestling team will be the No. 1 seed and face Missouri in the opening round of the National Duals Invitational presented by Paycom.

Iowa is 4-2 all-time against Missouri with the first meeting between the teams coming in 1967 (Iowa won 24-8) and the most recent meeting coming in 2015 in the National Dual finals (Missouri won 18-12).

The Hawkeyes have competed at a National Duals tournament 20 times and own a 72-15-3 all-time record. Iowa has won the title six times (1992, 1995, 1996, 2008, 2009, 2010), placed second four times (1994, 1997, 1998, 2015), third seven times (1990, 1993, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2012), fourth once (2013), fifth once (2007) and sixth once (2006).

Iowa owns a 392-137-9 all-time record against the tournament field.

The event will be held at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Nov. 15-16.

The 16-team event features a total purse of more than $1 million. The top eight teams will each earn payouts, with the winning squad receiving $200,000. The second- and third-place teams will earn $150,000, while fourth place earns $75,000. Fifth through eighth place payouts will be: $50,000, $40,000, $25,000, and $20,000, respectively. All participating teams will receive $20,000 for attending.

Automatic entry was awarded to the top 12 teams in the final 2025 NCAA Division I standings with Cornell, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech all accepting their spots.

The remaining spots were filled through a random drawing from teams that finished 13-24 in the NCAA standings (Arizona State, Lehigh, Little Rock, Missouri and Wyoming).
