IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior Hannah Stuelke and freshman Addie Deal both earned weekly honors from the Big Ten conference on Monday. Stuelke was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Deal grabbed Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Deal and Stuelke were pivotal pieces for the Hawkeye victories over RV Oregon and No. 15 Michigan State to improve to 7-0 in Big Ten play, Iowa’s best start to the conference slate since 2023-24.
Against the Ducks last Thursday, Deal and Stuelke both had 18 points a piece pacing Iowa’s offense to a 74-66 win. Deal became the first freshman Hawkeye since Caitlin Clark (2021) to record 18 or more points against a Big Ten opponent. Stuelke nearly notched a triple-double with 18 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high eight assists.
On Sunday against the Spartans, Stuelke led the Hawkeye offense again with 22 points (10-14 FG), nine rebounds, and five assists. It was Stuelke’s fourth 20+ point performance of the season. Deal added eight points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor and two assists.
No. 10 Iowa (16-2, 7-0) will hit the road to face No. 15 Maryland (17-3, 5-3) on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 5 p.m. (CT) in College Park. The contest will air on Peacock and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
