The 21st-ranked University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team travels to Champaign, Illinois, for the 2026 Big Ten Championships at State Farm Center on Saturday. The Hawkeyes will compete in Session II at noon (CT) against No. 17 Ohio State, No. 17 Penn State and No. 27 Maryland.

LAST TIME OUT
• Iowa finished second at the Minnesota quad 196.475, falling short to No. 13 Minnesota and defeating Illinois and Northern Illinois.
• The Hawkeyes finished the regular season with a 14-6 overall and 6-3 in Big Ten competition.
• Freshman Sophie Schriever took second on vault with a career-high 9.925, and fifth-year JerQuavia Henderson tied for third with a season-best 9.900.
• Senior Gianna Masella placed third on bars with a career-high 9.925.
• Schriever took second in the all-around with a 39.250, while sophomore Aurélie Tran followed in third at 39.200.
IN THE RANKINGS
• Iowa enters the week as the 21st-ranked team in the nation with an NQS score of 196.447.
• The Hawkeyes concluded the regular season ranked in the top 25 across all four events. They sit at No. 12 on bars (49.236), No. 17 on vault (49.196), and are tied at No. 24 on both floor (49.178) and beam (48.942).
• Aurélie Tran ranks 14th nationally in the all-around (39.420) and fifth in the Big Ten. Tran also ranks 25th nationally and third in the conference on bars (9.910).
• Sophie Schriever ranks 25th nationally in the all-around (39.345) and ninth in the B1G.
• Sydney Turner ranks 27th nationally in the all-around (39.305) and 10th in the Big Ten.
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
• Ohio State heads into the postseason with a 10-6 (4-5 Big Ten).
SCOUTING PENN STATE
• Penn State opens the postseason with a 7-7 (5-5 Big Ten Record).
SCOUTING MARYLAND
• Maryland enters the postseason at 19-6 (3-6 Big Ten).
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
• Iowa set a program record with a 197.225 against Nebraska on Feb. 7.
• The GymHawks set a new program record on bars with a 49.450 (vs. Penn State, 2/21/26).

O’ CANADA!
• The Hawkeyes have three Canadians on the roster for 2026, including three 2024 Olympians in sophomores Aurélie Tran, Cassie Lee and Sydney Turner.
• Tran leads the team with 14 event titles (5x all-around and bars, 3x vault, and 1x beam).
• Tran is the only GymHawk to compete in the all-around in every meet this season • Tran is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree (first team in 2026; All-Freshman Team in 2025).
• Turner has six event titles (4x beam,1x floor and vault).
SHINING SCHRIEVER
• Sophie Schriever is the only freshman to compete in the all-around for the Hawkeyes, posting a career-high 39.475 (vs. Nebraska 2/7/26).
• The newcomer has captured five titles (2x all-around, 1x on bars, beam and vault).
• Schriever earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team and the All-Freshman Team.
HOME SWEET CARVER
• The Hawkeyes secured an undefeated season (9-0) at home for the first time since 2022.
• Against Nebraska (2/7), the Hawkeyes set a new attendance record of 4,100.
Q’S COMEBACK
• JerQuavia Henderson returned to the lineup in 2026 after last competing in 2023.
• Henderson has notched a total of five titles (2x floor, 1x on bars, vault and all-around).
• Henderson earned her fourth career Big Ten honor (Second Team).
NEW FACES ON THE MAT
• The freshman class includes Oklahoma native Maggie Ball, Nevada native Daisy Bowles, Arizona native Stella DePaola and Utah native Sophie Schriever. • Bowles earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week (2/24).
