RECOMMENDED FAN SFAETY GUIDELINES
In addition, fans are strongly encouraged to plan accordingly and follow the health guidelines below:

  • Pre-Hydrate: Increase fluid intake, regardless of your activity level, focusing on non-alcoholic and decaffeinated fluids. Fans are encouraged to begin hydrating several days before the event and to consume alcohol responsibly.
  • Dress Appropriately: Choose lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to reflect heat, apply sunscreen, and wear wide-brimmed hats (such as sun hats or visors) that shade your face.
  • Seek Shade: Stay in shaded or air-conditioned areas as much as possible.
  • Know When to Stop: Stop activity immediately if you get dizzy, nauseated, or feel weak. Go into an air-conditioned space and drink cool liquids.
  • Use a Buddy System: Watch others for signs of heat-induced illness. Some individuals may not realize they are suffering from a heat-related condition and can become confused, lose consciousness, or experience other medical emergencies.
  • Monitor Symptoms: If you are experiencing symptoms of heat-related illness, you are encouraged to go home if you are able to safely do so or seek immediate medical assistance.
  • Track the Forecast: Fans are encouraged to monitor changing weather conditions each day via a local media weather app.
