2007 — team captain… Indoor – provisionally qualified for NCAA Championships in weight throw with the collegiate-best 66-9 1/2 he threw at NCAA Last Chance Qualifier… that mark led team and ranks third on Iowa[apos]s all-time bests list… placed fifth in weight throw (61-10 1/2) at Big Ten Championships… won weight throw four times and provisionally qualified five times during season… Outdoor – all-American, placing ninth in hammer throw (211-7) at NCAA Championships… runner-up in hammer throw (215-7) at NCAA regional, automatically qualifying for NCAA Championships and earning all-region honors… qualified for NCAA regional in hammer with a collegiate-best 222-2 (67.73 meters) at Drake Relays… named Big Ten Field Event Athlete of the Week May 1 for that performance… that mark led the team and ranks second in school history… posted regional qualifying marks in hammer six times… runner-up in hammer throw (206-4) at Big Ten Championships, earning second team all-Big Ten honors… won hammer at Musco Twilight IX (215-2) and at Central College Open (221-0)… won hammer and set meet record (199-4) at Central College Invite… placed third in hammer (207-7) at John Jacobs Invite and fourth (200-11) at Willie Williams Classic… academic all-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2006 — Indoor – provisionally qualified for NCAA Championships in weight throw… placed third in weight throw (64-7 3/4) at Big Ten Championships… won weight throw at Iowa Open (64-3 1/4), Panther Invite (63-4 1/4) and Hawkeye Open (62-1 1/4)… led team in that event… Outdoor – Big Ten hammer throw champion (208-1)… runner-up in hammer throw (217-11) at NCAA regional, earning all-region honors and qualifying for NCAA Championships… qualified for regional in hammer with the team-leading and season-best 220-6 he threw at Messersmith Invite… also won hammer at Iowa Musco Twilight VIII (218-1) and Sun Angel Classic (204-0)… placed third in hammer (213-6) at Drake Relays… competed in hammer throw at USATF Championship qualifier… academic all-Big Ten… named to ESPN The Magazine academic all-district second team…U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic team selection… letterwinner.

2005 — Indoor – provisionally qualified for NCAA Championships in weight throw, leading team in that event… threw season-best 66-4 1/4 in weight throw at Last Chance Meet … placed third in weight throw (64-11 1/4) at Big Ten Championships… won weight throw at Iowa Open (65-1 1/4), Gold Country Classic (63-4 1/4) and Hawkeye Open (64-6)… Outdoor – redshirted… won hammer throw at Simpson Twilight (217-11) and Messersmith Invite (210-11) while competing unattached… academic all-Big Ten… letterwinner… placed 14th in hammer (210-1) at USATF Nationals.

2004 — Indoor – redshirted… Outdoor – all-American… placed 10th in hammer (206-9) at NCAA Championships after throwing a season-best 208-11 in prelims… won hammer at UNI Twilight (202-9), placed second at Drake Relays (206-7), Iowa Musco Twilight VI (200-5) and Missouri Relays (198-4), and fifth at Big Ten Championships (196-4)… placed 11th in hammer (192-0) at NCAA regional, qualifying for NCAA Championships… academic all-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2003 — Indoor – led team in weight throw (59-5 3/4)… placed 11th in weight throw (58-5 3/4) at Big Ten Championships… threw collegiate-best shot put (50-0 3/4) at Panther Classic… Outdoor – placed seventh in hammer with a season-best 196-0 at Big Ten Championships… placed 10th (190-5) in hammer at NCAA regional and 16th (177-6) at Drake Relays… led team in shot put and hammer… letterwinner… placed third in hammer throw (212-2) throwing a 6 kilo implement at USATF Junior Championships, earning Verizon Junior all-America honors.

High School — four-time high school all-American… won national hammer throw and state shot put (56-2 1/2)… set state record in shot put (60-1 1/2) and school records in discus (175-1) and shot put (60-1 1/2)… two-time team captain and MVP… named 2002 Verizon Junior all-American for placing third in hammer throw with six kilogram ball (205-10) at Junior National Championships… National Honor Society member… coach was Dee Blanchard.
