2020 — Indoor – placed ninth in heptathlon with  a season-best 5,052 points at B1G Championships… ran a collegiate-best 60-meter hurdles  (8.51) as part of B1G heptathlon… placed fifth in heptathlon at Sevigne Husker Invite (4,943 points), posting a collegiate best in pole vault (14-1 3/4, 4.31m) at event… academic All-Big Ten… Dean’s List student.

2019 — Indoor – placed 12th in heptathlon at Frank Sevigne Invite (4,174 points)… competed in long jump (22-2 1/2, 6.77m) and 60-meter hurdles (8.78) at Jimmy Grant Invite… competed in high jump (6-2 3/4, 1.90m) and 60-meter hurdles (8.79) at Hawkeye Invite… Outdoor – academic All-Big Ten… Dean’s List student… letterwinner.

2018 — Indoor – placed 10th in heptathlon with a collegiate-best 5,162 points at Big Ten Championships… that total ranks eighth all-time at Iowa… posted collegiate bests in 60 meters (7.09), 1,000 metrs (2:42.68) and high jump (6-4 1/4, 1.94m) as part of B1G heptathlon… placed fourth in heptathlon at Wieczorek Invite (4,895 points)… Outdoor – placed ninth in decathlon at Big Ten Championships (6,452) and 12th in decathlon at Bryan Clay Invite (5,773 points)… won 400 meters (49.23) at part of Big Ten decathlon… competed in javelin at Musco Twilight (123-1, 37.53m)… competed in 110-meter hurdles (15.60) and discus (108-3, 33.00m) at Willie Williams Classic… ran season-best 110-meter hurdles at Battle on the Bayou (15.46)… academic All-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2017 — Track – redshirted.

High School — four-time all-conference in track… team MVP… won state titles as part of 800 and 1,600-meter relays… set school records as part of outdoor 1600-meter sprint medley, 800-meter and 1,600-meter relays.

Personal — born August 23, 1997… son of Greg and Sue Gaynes… has two brothers – Brad and Patrick… high school coach was Mike Kennedy… mechanical engineering major.
