Smith was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1998. She was a three-time All-Big Ten honoree, earning first-team honors in 1996 and 1998, and honorable mention in 1997. She was a WBCA District/Region All-American as a senior in 1998, and ranks high in the program’s all-time top rebounding (859) and scoring (1,598).
