A CHAMPIONSHIP VENUE
The University of Iowa Athletics Department and the University of Iowa Recreational Services partnered to construct the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC). The $69 million facility, which opened in the summer of 2010, serves as the home for the Hawkeye swimming and diving program.
The UI swimmers have a state-of-the-art 50-meter competition pool and a separate diving well. The facility also houses the team’s locker room, while boasting a swimming and diving specific training room space.
In its first year as a competition venue, the CRWC hosted the 2011 USA Diving Winter Nationals. The venue has also hosted the 2015 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, 2019 Big Ten Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, 2020 Big Ten Women’s Big Ten Swimming & Diving Championships, 2015 Big Ten Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, 2012 Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, the 2011 USA Swimming Speedo Sectionals (July 21-24) and the NCAA Zone Diving Qualifier.
The facility has 20,000 square feet of fitness space over three levels, a 52 1/2 foot climbing wall and a leisure swimming pool among other amenities.
The CRWC is located on the southwest corner of Burlington and Madison Streets. Parking is available one block to the southeast.
