Kinnick Stadium Ticket Scanners

Mobile Ticketing Tips

  • The day before the game, download your tickets/parking passes to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay using the Hawkeyes Sports App or through the My Account page*.

    Download on the App Store

    Get it on Google Play

  • On game day, have your pass or ticket ready to be scanned before arriving to the parking lot or heading to the stadium gates.
  • There will be Mobile Ticket Assistance at the ticket office window between Gates A and M.
  • Mobile tickets are individually bar coded allowing one scan per entry so any attempts to duplicate, alter or sell any copies of the mobile ticket may result in admittance being refused to the event. This provides heightened security by identifying counterfeit and stolen tickets.

* For assistance accessing your My Account page, please contact the University of Iowa Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-IA-HAWKS or tickets@hawkeyesports.com.

Tap and go with Near Field Communication (NFC) Tickets

NFC ticketing lets you simply tap your phone at the gate to enter Kinnick Stadium—using your Apple or Google Wallet. There are no barcodes to scan, and screenshots won’t work, so be sure to download your tickets to your mobile wallet before arriving.

Step 1: Download your ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before arriving.
Step 2: Open your mobile ticket as you approach the gate.
Step 3: Hold the back of your phone to the reader to tap and scan.
Step 4: Swipe left/right to scan additional tickets.
Step 5: Head in and cheer on your Hawkeyes!

How to Confirm Your Ticket Is Ready

In Apple Wallet, look for the “Hold Near Reader” icon. This indicates your ticket is properly connected and ready to scan.

If the icon is missing:

  • Confirm you are signed in with the same Apple ID used when first adding tickets.
  • If you are using a different Apple ID, the original ticket holder must transfer the ticket to your own Iowa Athletics account.
  • Remove and re-add the ticket in Apple Wallet.
  • Make sure you have Wi-Fi or cellular service.

For assistance, contact the Iowa Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-IA-HAWKS (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. CT).

Best Practices for Different Groups

Individuals:
Purchase and add your ticket directly to your Apple Wallet. If you cannot attend, transfer or sell your ticket through My Account.

Pairs:
The primary account holder should add the first ticket to Apple Wallet. If attending separately, transfer the second ticket through My Account. Do not share logins.

Families or Groups:
The primary account holder purchases tickets and adds the first ticket to Apple Wallet. They then transfer tickets to each person attending separately. Each recipient must create their own Iowa Athletics ticket account and add their ticket to their own Apple Wallet.

Iowa Hawkeyes Fans: Mobile Tickets Are Getting More Secure

What Is Account Binding?

Account binding ties your Iowa Athletics mobile tickets to your Apple ID. This prevents unauthorized sharing while keeping the same simple entry process.

The first person to add a ticket from an account permanently links that ticket account with their Apple ID. All future tickets from that account must either go to the same user’s Apple Wallet or be officially transferred through hawkeyesports.com/MyAccount.

First-Time Setup

Mobile tickets for Iowa Athletics will now function like Apple Pay for added security.

  1. Open your ticket email or account and select one single-game ticket to add to Apple Wallet (do not use “Add All”).
  2. Follow the Apple prompt to verify with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device password.
  3. This step will link your Iowa Athletics ticket account with your Apple iCloud account.
  4. After the first setup, all future Iowa Athletics tickets will automatically and securely connect to your Apple ID.
  5. Once verified, you may safely use the “Add All” option for future tickets.

Note: Season ticket All-in-One passes will not require authentication unless they are transferred to another person.

After the initial setup, all future Iowa Athletics tickets will automatically and securely connect to your Apple ID. You will not need to repeat verification unless you switch devices or encounter a security issue. Once verified, you may use the “Add All” option without concern.

Always share tickets using the free transfer option available through HawkeyeSports.com/MyAccount.
