Tap and go with Near Field Communication (NFC) Tickets
NFC ticketing lets you simply tap your phone at the gate to enter Kinnick Stadium—using your Apple or Google Wallet. There are no barcodes to scan, and screenshots won’t work, so be sure to download your tickets to your mobile wallet before arriving.
Step 1: Download your ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before arriving.
Step 2: Open your mobile ticket as you approach the gate.
Step 3: Hold the back of your phone to the reader to tap and scan.
Step 4: Swipe left/right to scan additional tickets.
Step 5: Head in and cheer on your Hawkeyes!

How to Confirm Your Ticket Is Ready
In Apple Wallet, look for the “Hold Near Reader” icon. This indicates your ticket is properly connected and ready to scan.
If the icon is missing:
- Confirm you are signed in with the same Apple ID used when first adding tickets.
- If you are using a different Apple ID, the original ticket holder must transfer the ticket to your own Iowa Athletics account.
- Remove and re-add the ticket in Apple Wallet.
- Make sure you have Wi-Fi or cellular service.
For assistance, contact the Iowa Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-IA-HAWKS (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. CT).

Best Practices for Different Groups
Individuals:
Purchase and add your ticket directly to your Apple Wallet. If you cannot attend, transfer or sell your ticket through My Account.
Pairs:
The primary account holder should add the first ticket to Apple Wallet. If attending separately, transfer the second ticket through My Account. Do not share logins.
Families or Groups:
The primary account holder purchases tickets and adds the first ticket to Apple Wallet. They then transfer tickets to each person attending separately. Each recipient must create their own Iowa Athletics ticket account and add their ticket to their own Apple Wallet.
