SACRAMENTO, CA – Sophomore Bill Neumann capped off a stellar season in thejavelin throw at the NCAA Championships, today, at Hornet Stadium on Sacramento State’scampus. Neumann finished in third place after tossing the javelin 243-8, earning all-Americahonors.
This is the second consecutive year in which Neumann has finished in third place. Lastseason as a freshman, Neumann earned all-America honors after setting a personal-best andschool record mark of 244-8.
Sprinter Shellene Williams is the lone Hawkeye remaining in the championship.Williams will compete in the semi-finals of the 400 meters tonight at 10:25 p.m. (CST).
