WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – The University of Iowa men’s swimming and diving team is in fourth place after the first day of competition at the Purdue Invitational, posting a score of 170.50.

Iowa’s Timo Klami led the one-meter diving event after the preliminary round with a score of 307.75. Klami posted a 313.80 in the finals to clinch his one-meter victory.

The team of Tomasz Dziedzic, Alex Boyce, Konrad Kazmierczak, and Kevin Velleca placed third in the 200-free relay by posting a finals time of 1:23.75. Cam Dye finished 18th in the 500-free with a time of 4:39.79. Dziedizic also helped out the Hawkeyes by placing fifth in the 200-IM with a time of 1:52.09. Others scoring in the 200-IM were Steve Medaglia(8th), Mariusz Muras(11th), Trevor Haley(13th), and Elliot Ptasnik(14th). Kazmierczak finished second in the 50-free with a time of 20.78.
