Minneapolis, MN – The University of Iowa women’s swimming team is currently in seventh place out of ten teams. The Hawkeyes posted a score of 70 after the first day of competition at the Minnesota Invitational.
Katelyn Eustis finished 13th in the 500-free with a time of 5:03.39, Christie Hooper was 14th with a time of 5:04.39. Andrea Hemphill placed ninth in the 200-IM by posting a time of 2:07.14. The Hawkeyes did well in the 50-free with three point-scorers. Kate Haeger was 11th (24.08), Abby VanMaaren finished 12th (24.20), and freshman Emmy Haeger placed 14th (24.32). The Hawkeye relay team scored well in the 400 medley relay. The team of Caitlin Girdley, Kristen Eide, Lisa Haunz, and Joyce VanKeulen placed tenth with a time of 3:56.43.
