The eighth-ranked Iowa GymHawks dominated the competition Friday evening, beating Illinois-Chicago and Illinois State. The Hawkeyes finished with 195.8 points, while Illinois-Chicago came in second with 193.575 points and host Illinois State placed third with 190.25 points.

The GymHawks broke the school beam record, scoring a 49.425 on the event. Iowa’s top four finishers broke their career records, including Alexis Maday, who won the event with a 9.95. Stephanie Gran finished second (9.925) and Danielle Legeai and Nicole Wong tied for third (9.875).

Maday also won bars with a 9.95 and tied for second on vault (9.825). Gran won floor and the all-around and placed second on bars and beam. Annie Rue tied for second in the all-around with a score of 38.725.

The GymHawks will host their last home meet of the season Friday, February 27 when they match up against Minnesota.
