ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Iowa men’s track and field team placed 10th at the 2004 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday in Ann Arbor, MI. Wisconsin won its fourth team title in five seasons with 174.5 points.
The Hawkeyes recorded five top-10 finishes on the day, including a fifth-place finish by the 1,600-meter relay (3:18.42). Senior Zach Digney placed sixth in the 200 meters (21.79), while senior Derrick Burks placed eighth in the 60 meters (6.98) and senior Russell Peterson placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.52). Junior Matt O’Hollearn placed ninth in the 600 meters (1:21.42)
The Iowa men’s and women’s teams will send competitors to the co-ed NCAA Last Chance Qualifier in Ames Saturday, March 6. It will be the last opportunity for any Hawkeyes to qualify or improve already qualifying performances for the NCAA Indoor Championships, set for March 12-13 in Fayetteville, AR.
