Houston, TX – The University of Iowa women’s track and field team finished in fourth place and added another qualifier for the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday at the Texas Southern Relays. The Hawkeyes accumulated 60 team points and had seven top ten finishes on the day including one champion.

Freshman Peaches Roach continued her success in the high jump, placing first with a regional qualifying jump of 5-10 ? (1.78m). The 4×200 meter relay team of Katie Herrmann, Lindsey McCalla, Jodyann Raymond and Roach brought home a third place finish with a time of 1:37.66. Two events finished in fourth place on Saturday. Senior Sarah Arens finished the 800 meters in 2:16.45 for her fourth place finish while the 4×100 meter relay team of Herrmann, Tiffany Johnson, Tiffany Pedersen and Raymond finished fourth with a time of 46.49.

The Hawkeyes will travel once again to Texas next weekend to compete in the Texas-Arlington Invitational, held in Arlington, TX.
