MADISON, WI – The University of Iowa men’s golf team is currently in eighth place after the first day of competition at the Northern Intercollegiate. The Hawkeyes recorded an 11-over par 587 over 36 holes of competition.
Luke Miller led the team with an even-par 144 and is tied for 18th place. Jon Feldick fired a four-over par 148 to place him tied for 29th after day one. Todd Larson and Andy Tiedt both shot six-over par 150’s and are tied for 35th place. Brian DeBuhr is tied for 44th with a score of eight-over 152.
Host school Wisconsin is currently at 11-under par and is five strokes ahead of Illinois heading into the final day of competition. Garrett Chaussard of Illinois and Ryan Swelin of Miami of Ohio are tied for the individual lead at six-under par.
Competition at the Northern Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow. Tee times are set for 1:30 p.m.
