The University of Iowa men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell to the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday afternoon at the Fieldhouse Pool. The women fell 243-108, while the men fell 209-138.

Leading the way for the women was junior Kelly Werner, who took second in the 100 fly (57.64) and third in the 200 back (2:02.77). She also swam the lead leg for the second-second place 400 medley relay team (3:54.49). Werner was joined on the relay by fellow junior Katie Martin, who also took second in the 100 free (52.04). Martin then teamed up with Abby VanMaaren, Katie Haeger and Emmy Haeger to take second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:36.69.

For the Hawkeye men, freshman Dragos Agache took first in the 200 breast in a time of 2:07.52. Agache joined Eric Hahn, Tomasz Dziedzic and Konrad Kazmierczak to take second in the 400 medley relay (3:25.44). Senior Andrei Ciurca finished second in the 200 back (1:52.19) while senior Elliot Ptasnik took second in the 200 breast (2:09.31). Kazmierczak was the second-place finisher in the 100 free (47.54) while junior Trevor Haley took second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:04.52. Senior Alex Boyce was second in the 100 fly (50.86) and teamed up with Dziedzic, Kazmierczak and Bryan Rowland for a second-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:26.02).

The Hawkeye women will travel to Minneapolis, MN November 6th to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers while the men will head to East Lansing, MI for a dual with Michigan State on October 30th.
