EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Lindsay Bowen scored 17 points to lead No. 6 Michigan State to a 68-56 win over No. 18 Iowa on Sunday.
Liz Shimek added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans (13-2, 2-1 Big Ten). Victoria Lucas-Perry had 11 of her 13 points in the first half.
Jamie Cavey led Iowa (13-2, 2-2) with 21 points before fouling out with 4:02 left.
The Spartans’ defensive pressure helped force 20 Hawkeye turnovers. Lucas-Perry had four of Michigan State’s 15 steals.
Michigan State notched its fourth win in five matchups against ranked opponents, bouncing back from a 68-54 loss at No. 9 Ohio State on Thursday.
The Hawkeyes, who entered the game with their best start in 17 years, had their second straight loss.
