The Iowa GymHawks lost to Illinois-Chicago Sunday afternoon, 191.125-190.325. The GymHawks received two individual event titles in the loss.

Liz Grajewski energized the crowd during her floor routine, scoring a 9.8 to win the event. Grajewski also finished second in the all-around (38.25) and third on bars (9.625). Sophomore Danielle Legeai took the beam title in her first meet of the season, scoring a 9.725. Kortny Williamson scored a 9.75 on vault to finish second, while Katie Burke tied for third on beam with a 9.65.

The GymHawks broke two team event scores for the season. On beam, Iowa had a season-high 47.75, while posting a 48.475 on floor. Iowa also scored an individual season-high on floor with Grajewski’s 9.8 and Legeai tied the beam season-high score of 9.725.

Iowa will compete next Friday, January 28 at Iowa State.
