Trannel Named To All-Region First Team

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa rower Michelle Trannel has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association’s All-Region First Team. Trannel, a senior, was a member of Iowa’s V8+ boat that finished the season ranked No. 20.

Thirty-nine schools are represented on the first and second teams, led by eight institutions that placed five rowers each. Varsity 8+ boats ranked in the top six regionally received automatic selections for their respective nominees.

The Hawkeyes finished the 2005 season May 15 at the Aramark Sprints, where the V8+ placed second in its heat with a time of 6:36.50.
