IOWA CITY — The Iowa men’s golf team hosted the final day of the 2005 Hawkeye Intercollegiate at Finbkbine Golf Course. Iowa started the day in third place but after shooting four under-par for the day they jumped to second place for the tournament. Western Illinois finished in first place with a final score of -19.

The Hawkeyes’ top performers who competed for the team were freshmen Cole Peevler (-3, 5th) and senior Luke Miller (-1E, T7th) both of whom finished in the top ten in the tournament. Other golfers competing were Andy Tiedt (+1, T10th), Jon Feldick (+4, T16th) and Brian deBuhr (+8, T28th). Some Hawkeyes also competed as individuals in this tournament. The top performer was Todd Larson(-8, 2nd) who carded a 69 in the final round and finished in second place in the tournament. Adam Fraser (+3,T14th), Zack Anderson(+5, T20th), Dan Holterhaus (+6, 22nd), Bennett Hammerberg (+10, T30th), Kyle Hougham (+21, 44th) and Robby Storm (+16, 44th) also competed.

The next time Iowa will hit the links will be at the Wolverine Intercollegiate on September 24 in Ann Arbor, MI.
