Hawkeyes In 12th After Day One Of Mary Fossum Invitational

East Lansing, MI– The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in 12th place after playing 36-holes at the Mary Fossum Invitational Saturday. Michigan State leads the 15-team tournament with a score of 594 (+18) on their home turf. The Hawkeyes fired a 625 (+49) after two rounds.

Sophomore Melanie Boyles (Tempe, AZ) is the leading scorer for Iowa with a 10 over par score of 154. She fired a low round of 75. After coming out strong and medaling at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate, freshman Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) shot a 161 (+17) today. Junior Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) is tied for 35th with a score of 155 (+11) after day one.

The tournament will conclude Sunday with the final 18-holes at Forest Akers West Golf Course.
