BLOOMINGTON, IN — The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in fifth place after playing 36-holes at the Lady Northern Invitational Saturday. Purdue leads the 12 team tournament with a score of 574 (-2).

Sophomore Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) is the leading scorer for Iowa firing a six over par score of 150 to finish the day in a four-way tie for 16th. She carded a season low 72 during round two. Junior Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) is tied for 20th with firing a 151 (+7) after day one. Freshman Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) shot a 153 (+8) and is tied for 27th. Sophomore Maggie Gelber (Winnetka, IL) carded a 154 (+10) to end in a tie for 37th. Sophomore Melanie Boyles (Tempe, AZ) and junior Karla Murra (Sioux Falls, SD) are in a five-way tie for 53rd.

The tournament will conclude Sunday with the final 18-holes at Indiana University Championship Golf Course.
