Hawkeyes Finish Tenth At Lady Northern Invite

BLOOMINGTON, IN — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished in tenth place after playing the final round at the Lady Northern Invitational on the par-72 Indiana University Championship Golf Course Sunday. The Hawkeyes posted a score of 925 (+10) at the 54-hole tournament. Purdue won with a three-over par score of 867.

Sophomore Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) held on to lead the Hawkeyes with a 13-over par score of 229. She came in a tie for 23rd overall. Junior Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) fired a 230 (+14) to finish in 29th. Freshman Tyrette Metzendorf (Winter Haven, FL) shot an 81 today to finish in a tie for 34th. Purdue’s Maria Hernandez and Illinois State’s Samantha Richdale tied for first, firing two-under par 214.

The Hawkeyes have next weekend off but return to action Monday, October 10th for the Legends of Golf Shoot-Out in Franklin, IN.
