DES MOINES, IA – The No. 48 Iowa women’s tennis team defeated Drake today, 7-0 in Des Moines. Iowa is now 7-2 this season.
#39 Meg Racette defeated Veronika Lesyova, 6-1, 6-2 at the number one singles position. At the number two singles position, Hillary Mintz defeated Irina Kalshnikova, 6-0, 6-0. Milica Veselinovic defeated Eveline Rusdianto, 6-0, 6-1, at the number three singles position, and Jacqueline Lee defeated Kari Sloboth, 7-5, 6-0 at the number four singles position. At the number five position, Kayla Berry defeated Allison Wilkie, 6-4, 6-2, and Krissy Dowlin defeated Sarah Plowman, 6-4, 6-2 at the number six singles spot.
In doubles competition, Racette/Lee defeated Lesyova/Plowman, 7-3, and Mintz/Veselinovic defeated Wilkie/Sloboth, 8-2.
Iowa will continue competition at Kansas, Saturday, March 11th.
