Three Hawkeyes Complete Day One Of Qualifying Play

EAST LANSING, MI – Three Hawkeyes completed day one of qualifying play today at Midwest Regionals. Kayla Berry defeated Elise Montrose of Bradley, 6-2, 7-5, in the first round and Sarah Andrews of Michigan State, 6-2, 7-5 in the second round. Merel Beelen defeated Danielle Mousseau of Minnesota, 6-4, 6-4, and Alejandra Meza Cuadra of Illinois, 6-1, 6-3.

In other qualifying play, freshman Kelcie Klockenga was defeated in the first round, 6-3, 6-3, by Lauren Little of Marquette and went on to beat Erin Jobe of Wisconsin, 6-2, 7-6, 7-1 in the consolation round.

Qualifying play will continue tomorrow at the Michigan State University Tennis Center.
