Goldenberg Named To Soccer Buzz Elite Team Of The Week

IOWA CITY – Junior defender Claire Goldenberg has been named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week for her performances against Indiana and Purdue last weekend. Goldenberg is the first Hawkeye to receive this honor.

The River Forest, IL, native netted her first career-goal in double-overtime against No. 21 Indiana while anchoring the Hawkeye defense in two shutouts against top 25 teams. Goldenberg also made a clutch defensive save late in the second half against Purdue to preserve Iowa’s second-straight shutout and help the Hawkeyes to their first unbeaten Big Ten weekend since 2002.

Goldenberg has started all 18 matches as a central defender this season.
