The University of Iowa baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2007 season, which includes 23 games at Banks Field.
The Hawkeyes open the season with a three-game series at Arkansas-Little Rock (Feb. 23-25), then travel to DeLand, FL, for the Stetson Tournament. Over spring break, Iowa heads west to California, where it will play in the Pepsi Johnny Quick Classic.
Iowa will open its home season with a three game series with North Dakota State (Mar. 23-25), before opening the Big Ten season on the road at Ohio State (Mar. 30-Apr. 1). During the conference season, Iowa will host Penn State, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
The fourth-annual Corridor Classic against UNI will be held on May 15 at Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
“We’ve got another tough schedule this season, which we are excited about,” Iowa Head Coach Jack Dahm said. “We’re looking forward to opening at Arkansas-Little Rock, then heading to two really tough tournaments at Stetson and Fresno State. Between the two of them we will play seven games against NCAA Tournament teams from last year. That should help us prepare for the conference schedule, which is especially tough, with road trips to Ohio State and Minnesota.
“We are also excited about continuing the Corridor Classic with Northern Iowa. The game has grown a lot in the last three years, and we just want to keep making it bigger and better.”
