CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) – Alonzo Gee had 21 points and six rebounds to lead No. 10 Alabama to a 72-60 victory over Iowa in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam on Sunday.
Ronald Steele added 18 points, six assists and four rebounds for Alabama, and Jermareo Davidson added 15 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Tyler Smith led Iowa with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tony Freeman added 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Gee made two consecutive steals for breakaway dunks in the closing minutes of the first half.
Alabama plays the winner and Iowa the loser of the Xavier-Villanova game Monday in the final round of the four-day tournament Monday.
