Iowa Men’s Assistant Golf Coach Adam Kaufman announced today the signing of Alex Moen and Dusty Koth to National Letters of Intent to attend the University of Iowa next fall.
“I am fortunate to have Alex and Dusty joining the program,” said Coach Kaufman. “They are very passionate and dedicated to their golf games. They are very excited about their opportunity to be able to come in and compete for a spot right away.”
Moen, a Wheaton, IL, native, was Wheaton Warrenville South’s captain and Most Valuable Player this past year. In addition, he is a three-time all-conference player and league MVP during his senior campaign. Moen had four top-five finishes in six tournaments his senior year. Moen attended a golf academy for a semester during his junior year, where he received excellent instruction and played against top national competition.
Koth is a native of Bloomington, IL, and was a member of University High School’s Illinois state golf championship team all four years. A three-time all-state honoree, Koth has won medalist honors at both regionals and sectionals, and placed third, eighth and ninth at the state tournament. A captain and two-time Most Valuable Player, Koth has achieved all-conference laurels all four years and also an individual conference championship. Additionally, he won the 2004 Plantation Junior Golf Tour Championship and tied for second in 2005. Koth was the 2005 IJGAs Player of the Year. He won the 2005 Chic Evans Open in Chicago and he took second at the 2004 AJGA Nike Tournament in Lexington, KY.
