University of Iowa fullback Tom Busch is looking forward to the Riverwalk and a great game against Texas inside a noisy Alamodome.
“Communication is big in football,” said the junior from Cottage Grove, Minn. “It’s even more important in a place that’s going to be as noisy as the Alamodome on the afternoon of Dec. 30 with the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference square off against the Texas Longhorns of the Big 12.
Busch says noise is more of a distraction for the offense. “It’s important for us on the offensive side of the ball to be able to communicate effectively,” he explained. “But it’s not like were not used to it. We’ve played two games in domes this season already and we work on it all of the time.”
Busch will carry into the Hawkeyes’ sixth straight bowl game an interesting stat line: Two carries for four yards to go with seven receptions – three of which that have been touchdowns.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to contribute,” he said.
