Mike Jones has lived his football life in the trenches. And, as far as the offensive lineman is concerned, the 2006 Alamo Bowl game plan for the Iowa Hawkeyes is simple: Play hard-nosed Hawkeye football.
“We need to play football the way the Iowa Hawkeyes play football…tough, hard-nosed football,” said the 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior from Chicago Ridge, Ill.
Jones isn’t selfish when he says, too, that the 2006 Hawkeyes want very much to send this group of seniors out on a high note.
“We’re anxious to send them out on a high. It won’t be easy because we’re playing a great team, but we’re working hard and that’s one of the goals,” said Jones.
