IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -Allyssa DeHaan had 20 points and six rebounds to help No. 20 Michigan State beat Iowa 83-63 on Sunday.
Five Spartans scored in double digits and Michigan state shot 53.6 percent from the field and nearly 79 percent from the foul line.
Iowa (11-8, 3-3 Big Ten) couldn’t stop Michigan State inside, with the Spartans scoring 36 points in the paint. The Spartans also scored 30 points off Iowa turnovers.
Iowa kept the game close early, leading by three points midway through the first half, but Michigan State (13-4, 4-1) took the lead on two free throws by Aisha Jefferson at 10:28 and never trailed again. The Spartans led 34-24 at the break.
Iowa closed the gap to seven on Kristi Smith’s 3-pointer that made it 38-31, but Iowa would get no closer, trailing by as many as 27 points with 3:31 left to play.
Iowa shot just 38.2 percent for the game, and 69.7 percent from the line.
Victoria Lucas-Perry scored 16 points for Michigan State and Jefferson added 13. Myisha Bannister had 12 points and Rene Haynes scored 10.
Wendy Ausdemore led Iowa with 12 points, while Jenee Graham and Megan Skouby each added 11.
