COLUMBUS, OH – The Iowa men’s golf team shot a 308 Saturday in the opening round of the Kepler Intercollegiate at the Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio. The Hawkeyes are in ninth, while Louisville is leading with a first round score of 292. Play was suspended after the first round due to inclement weather.
Senior Jon Feldick led the Hawkeyes as he had an impressive showing in the first round. He carded a 70 to finish even par and tied for fourth place. Sophomore Cole Peevler was seven strokes behind the leaders with a score of 77. Junior Adam Miller posted a score of 79 to finish the first day tied for 44th. Junior Scot Glasford shot an 81 and is tied for 64th. Junior Dan Holterhaus finished tied for 73rd with a score of 82.
The Hawkeyes will continue competition Sunday at the Kepler Intercollegiate, weather permitting. Teams are scheduled to complete round two and then continue on to round three if time permits.
