The University of Iowa men’s golf team completed day three at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic. The Hawkeyes shot an 18-hole score of 290 (+10), its best of the tournament. Iowa finished in tenth place out of 12 teams with a 54-hole score of 886 (+46). Michigan State won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 847 (+7).
Freshman Vince India led the Hawkeyes, with a 54-hole score of 215 (+5). He finished tied for eighth overall in the first tournament of his career. After a strong outing on day one, senior Todd Larson finished tied for 29th overall with a score of 220 (+10). Junior Cole Peevler tied for 40th with a score of 75 (+5) on Tuesday. In addition, Dan Holterhaus finished in 52nd place after a round of 71 (+1) and Adam Miller finished 67th overall after a round of 74 (+4). Both Holterhaus and Miller fired their best rounds of the tournament. Michigan State’s Ryan Brehm finished first overall with a 54-hole score of 205 (-5).
The Hawkeyes will compete at the Duke/Coca Cola Classic in Durham, NC beginning October 7.
