Moving to singles competition, Iowa was 1-5 for the match. Veselinovic earned a singles point for Iowa with her 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 win against Aksdal. The victory meant more than just a singles point for Iowa. “Denver was a tough team today,” said Iowa Head Coach Daryl Greenan. “Our girls fought hard but we just came up a little short. The highlight for us was Mili (Veselinovic) tying the record. We are very excited for her and proud of her accomplishment. We are going to get back to work and get ready for our next opportunity to beat a ranked opponent.”
Iowa will return to action on the road March 19th against Kansas State. Competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the Washburn Tennis Facility in Manhattan, KS.
